NEW! Active FX-Deep FX
Our skin changes over the years. As we age we start noticing fine lines, wrinkles and laxity giving way. Our state of the art fractional CO2 laser by Lumenis can give you a more youthful appearance with minimal downtime.

We are pleased to have the latest in fractional CO2 laser resurfacing for aging skin. Our office has the ActiveFX and the DeepFX resulting in a TotalFX treatment customized to suit your needs.

Our ActiveFX fractional laser treats fine lines, wrinkles, tightens skin, and improves skin tone and texture. It also stimulates the formation of new collagen and plumps the skin. It targets the upper layers of the skin while leaving bridges of healthy skin intact to aid in regeneration.

Our DeepFX fractional laser improves scars, deep wrinkles and texture. It targets the deep dermal layers of the skin stimulating a response that leads to tissue regeneration and new collagen formation throughout the entire treatment area. Since only a fraction of the skin is actually treated, the healing time is only about a week.

Photorejuvenation—IPL

What is Intense Pulsed Light?
Intense Pulsed Light technology is a treatment breakthrough that can improve a variety of skin conditions such as photo-aging, brown pigmented spots, small broken facial veins, mottled pigmentation and poikiloderma. The damaged skin responds to the Intense Pulsed Light. The light is changed to heat energy as it reaches the collagen beneath the skin's surface providing superior cosmetic results.

How is Photorejuvenation performed?

A cold gel is applied on the area to be treated. You will be given goggles to protect your eyes during the treatment. The hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied. You will feel a slight sting which doesn’t linger. Each treatment generally takes about twenty minutes. You have the option to have anesthetic cream applied on the area to be treated. Let us know if you decide to have the anesthetic cream when you schedule your appointment.

Why are multiple treatments necessary?
The number of treatments varies with each individual. It depends on the severity of your condition. A series of four to six treatments may be recommended. You’ll see progressive improvement with each treatment with minimal downtime. This photorejuvenation process is non-ablative. You can go back to work and resume your normal activities the same day.

What results can I expect once I am finished with my series of treatments?
Photorejuvenation using IPL can simultaneously treat a range of facial concerns safely
and effectively without disruption of the skin’s surface. Your skin will appear smoother with
a reduction of pigmented areas. Broken capillaries, rosacea and mottled skin are significantly improved.

What areas of the body can be treated?

In addition to treating the face, we can also safely treat the neck, chest, shoulders, arms, back and hands. Discounts are given when multiple areas are treated on the same day.

Laser Hair Reduction

Why settle for short-term hair removal methods? Laser hair reduction is a more effective solution. The newest advancement in laser hair removal technology provides long lasting solutions to excessive unwanted hair.

In the past the methods available to us for hair removal were tweezing, shaving, waxing or chemical depilatories. Some of these were very painful and only temporary.

Our LightSheer diode laser by Lumenis is a state of the art system. It is designed to remove unwanted hair faster with less discomfort. It produces a highly concentrated beam of light. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles, heating the hair and significantly impeding the follicles ability to re-grow.

Hair grows in phases and therefore multiple treatments are necessary to achieve the best results. The number of treatments varies with each individual and is also dependant on the area of the body being treated.

Anesthetic cream is available although not necessary. Please let us know if you would like anesthetic cream when you schedule your laser hair appointment.

Some side effects may include redness and swelling in the hair follicle area. We require that you be your natural skin color before and during your course of treatment.

V-Beam Laser, Facial Veins, Rosacea

Dr. Kaplan was the first doctor in Ventura County to use the V-Beam Laser. The pulsed dye laser is designed to reduce the appearance of facial veins, redness and benign vascular lesions. It delivers an intense light that is specifically absorbed by blood vessels. These blood vessels are coagulated and then reabsorbed by the body during the healing process. The Pulse Dye Vbeam Laser effectively treats broken blood vessels and rosacea.

It is recommended to avoid sun exposure before and throughout the course of the treatment. During the treatment a cooling mist is sprayed onto the targeted area of the skin before each laser pulse, maximizing comfort and protecting the skin during treatment. Some patients experience redness, bruising and mild swelling in the treated area immediately following treatment. This will usually go away in a few days. The treatment is safe; FDA approved and has been successfully used since the 1980’s.
