What is Intense Pulsed Light?

Intense Pulsed Light technology is a treatment breakthrough that can improve a variety of skin conditions such as photo-aging, brown pigmented spots, small broken facial veins, mottled pigmentation and poikiloderma. The damaged skin responds to the Intense Pulsed Light. The light is changed to heat energy as it reaches the collagen beneath the skin’s surface providing superior cosmetic results.

How is Photorejuvenation performed?

A cold gel is applied on the area to be treated. You will be given goggles to protect your eyes during the treatment. The hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied. You will feel a slight sting which doesn’t linger. Each treatment generally takes about twenty minutes. You have the option to have anesthetic cream applied on the area to be treated. Let us know if you decide to have the anesthetic cream when you schedule your appointment.

Why are multiple treatments necessary?

The number of treatments varies with each individual. It depends on the severity of your condition. A series of four to six treatments may be recommended. You’ll see progressive improvement with each treatment with minimal downtime. This photorejuvenation process is non-ablative. You can go back to work and resume your normal activities the same day.

What results can I expect once I am finished with my series of treatments?

Photorejuvenation using IPL can simultaneously treat a range of facial concerns safely
and effectively without disruption of the skin’s surface. Your skin will appear smoother with
a reduction of pigmented areas. Broken capillaries, rosacea and mottled skin are significantly improved.

What areas of the body can be treated?

In addition to treating the face, we can also safely treat the neck, chest, shoulders, arms, back and hands. Discounts are given when multiple areas are treated on the same day.
